Shame about the bump, lucky it's nothing serious. On the plus side it looks in pretty nice condition under there :aviator:

Cheers guys.

This evening will be cleaning off the top lip with the grinder, I will be then cleaning all the inner wing and spraying it with waxoyl to keep it in the condition its in now :Q The thing after that is to fit the spare door i have.

Then on the trailor out to the body shop for new wing fitting, and painting of bonnet, wing, door & hatch. Should hopefully have it out there for the end of the week.

Does anyone know (maybe knuckels will) if the original "fiesta 1.1L" decals for the mk2 are still avaliable? Looked on flea bay but its mainly mk3 stuff on there.

If Ford no longer supply them - whats the answer? As i want it to look original as it does now.

Gareth.

Update time.

Got the car back from the body shop last sunday and since then been doing little odds and sods in the evenings but it gets dark so bloody quickly now.

I had a copule days off work this week so today I finished the interior but because I had a replacment door ive had to change all the glass, the lock and latch etc, bit fiddly but mainly straight forward. Car looks so much better now finally got seome decent paint on the bonnet and hatch. just need to get an original style fiesta decal for the back now, if i cant get one from Ford then I will get a company to make on up.

Next job isto have it MOT'd then tax it and shes back on the road cant wait to drive it again. :D Needs a bloodt good wash as well.

few s**t pics from my phone.

Sorry Jay, maybe it will spur you on to have yours on the road. You know how much fun they are :bonkers: specially with 2.0l power :Q

Jony - Paint is not bad, I will give it a good going over with my machine polisher and cut any defects out of the finish, but im very pleased really especially for the price  and its a darn sight better that it was before it went in, lol.

i know what you mean clark, you think you've found a good cheapish one that can do a good job, then after taking one or two things that come back with small defects, you wonder if theyre really that good? then your make whos worked in a shop himself tells you its actually a terrible job,

i then realised the smoothed boot from my mk4 had little lumps in it, and a few small 'creator' looking dimples in it :(

the spoiler on it had cracks when it come back to me too, but they said no charge  ]

everytime i look at this Xr2 mate it makes me really want one :Q
think its a sign

Time for an update with this.

Shortly after getting the car back, while reconstructing the door, i noticed an area of rust below a weather seal so sent it back for this to be rectafied as it was just sprayed over initially  Any way that took over a week untill i got it back which meant i still have'nt had it mot'd. :x So this weekend i found some time to re-fix the front arch and side skirt and actually finish putting the door back together.

I will be having the car mot'd this week as i am sick of driving the car i am currently its a K reg diesel Fiesta safe to say way past its best done 193k :oooh: but just depressing to drive, especially because I have this which is my everyday car and the FIesta ST but i cant drive either yet! :x However these has been more damage sustained to the B reg......it was parked on my parents drive during the later end of last week and my mum reversed into the back of it with a mk4 golf, which meant 4 tint scratches to the rear bumper of her car and a smashed rear light, dented rear quater and smashed rear bumper for mine, not to mention big scratches down the side of it :x  :x  . I have no photo of the initial damage, but I have now replaced the rear light pushed out a dent and machined out 95% of the scratches but it still is not perfect. The worse part is the light no longer fits 100% as it should due the mounting holes being ever so slightly bent out of shape, not bad enough for it too leak i hope but something i need to keep my eye on. Heres some pics. Oh the other issue is out of all the spare mk2 / xr2 rear bumpers I have, all of them have smashed drivers side quaters. :(

Jay - Thats just a poor fitment of the rear arch :oooh: its been like that since i fitted it, that did'nt occur in the recent bump.
