Battery Powered Superchargers

Postby chicken_eyebrows on Mon Jul 18, 2005 3:11 pm

Has anyone got one or heard of anyone that's got one?

Basically a little battery powered fan that sits between your filter and your airflow meter to blast the air in faster than normal.

I've seen them on ebay for about £90-110 from somewhere in Germany, they promise a small HP gain (about 10hp) and they say they don't restrict the airflow when they're not running.

But I won't buy one until I hear a positive report! :-?

Race cars use turbos - turbos make your car faster.
Race cars use individual throttle bodies, ITBs make your car faster.
Race cars (dragsters) use nitrous, nitrous makes your car faster.

No race cars use "electric superchargers". Work the rest out ;)

Is that not the old Zet turbo's ... or something similar ?

They were a waste of money, as they could never flow enough air to make ANY difference.
