about a year ago i bougt a mk3,5 xr2i (rs1800 in UK)

i started to do some repairs to the bodywork


the left front wheel arch, some new metal

i have bought some escort rs2000 wheels , had them sandblasted en painted again
this is how I drove it for about a year , with the primer on it :rolleyes: and a suspension that had its best days.


than 2 weeks ago i bought some red front koni's and jellow rears. the red ones are new and never been fitted.
also got some lowering springs with them
the plan was just to fit them , but i got carreed away :lol:

i stript the red paint from the springs and sandblasted them, than had them powdercoated in black

springs and shocks back together

What front shocks are they??? All i can see is a Koni logo on the manual!

removed the rear anti roll bar to powdercoat
1 from the brackets is broken. orderd some new brackets and buches

the same withe the front one

this friday i started with the left side

cut some rust at the back wheel arch and weldet some new metal in place

cleand the rust from the front left arch cutted a peace away and welded some new metal in

adjustable red koni's , I'll have to check for the exact type.

i removed the feul tank and prepped it for paint

the front bumper , arches and skirts are in primer, today i wet sandet the frontbumper so thats ready for paint

and i just picked up the parts that needed sanblasting

clutch kit its for the 1.6 cvh xr2i it should fit i believe, but i will buy an other clutchplate (fiesta turbo maybe)

some relais(not shure i need them)

all the above cost me 50€ Thats 33.5£ i couldn't leave it :P

blueflame inox exhaust,2,5 inch with 4 inch rolled out. it's the same as mongoose, it's for the rs turbo , but i'll make it too fit :wink:

a small update

I removed the gearbox and clutch
and after a copple of hours of cleaning , degreasing and sandblasting i could prime the box and than paint it
turned out fine i think :)

i painted the bodykit and the mirrors
i went for imperial bleu , i love the collor :aviator:
everything went well but there are some runs in the clear coat on the front bumper, i have to do it again.

i'm very happy with the collor, the pics don't do it justice tho
