Best intercooler for FRST?

Postby Big_Phil on Thu Nov 05, 2009 4:55 pm

Just bought my first rs, and whilest it has upgraded engine goodies, it doesn't have an upgraded intercooler. I'd quite like to get one and the standard one looks small!

What are my best options for front mount or a double capacity cooler?

Cheers.

Cheers for the replies. Would there be any one to go for giving lower temps and more bhp?

I've been looking at the auto specialist airtec ones. Not sure if to go front mount or double capacity. Double capacity is suppsoed to add 7bhp compared to the fm 4bhp, and only has slightly higher outlet temps.

What do people think?

Front mount all the way mate, either single pass or double pass is your choice really, bumper WILL need cutting tho, will lower intake temps dramatically, im using a GRS after having a pace double capacity one on, also it looks the bo!!ocks too! Airtec surposed to be good i just got GRS off a friend cheap so went for that one. :) Its a must if you want to run higher boost SAFELY,think Fast Ford did a test on them a while back?
