best sparkplugs?
hi guys,as title suggests just wondered what the best spark plugs are to use?.Will be for a 1600 CVH.whats brands are everyone using in their motors?.cheers steve

yeah really its between NGK or champion plugs.was looking at the iridium ones,just wondered if there were any other better ones on the market?

using NGK now too. not been out with them in yet but engine's running much smoother and sounds nicer revved... although that's because the ones i removed were the original plugs by the look of it

Bosch Platinum is meant to be good aswell, i had them in my mk2 xr2 when i had it and them seemed good but i never drove car with standard plugs.

It depends what boost you are running as to what plugs to get!
I was running pp8's ok with 14psi but when the boost went up to 20psi they were getting to hot and risked melting so i now have C59's which seem to be ok.

he not running any boost mate, N/A
well i had problems with both champion and NGK,
i never had a problem with the standard plugs but i am using bosch super 4's at the moment and they great, cost me bout 20quid mate.

I can assure you in the Ford tuning you will gain nothing by running mega expensive plugs in most road going states of tune

Understandable. As I say, I've never gone to town on a Ford engine, only an A-series.
It didn't really improve the power, just a bit more responsiveness mid and top end.
At my father's garage, we only fit genuine Ford plugs in them, and we've had problems in over 20 years.
Well worth it, and they are relatively cheap!
