best way 2 tune a 1.6s (H)

Need advice or would i be better off spending money on other parts of the car/get engine conv. next year once i saved the money and got some NCB

the 1.6s engine is straight out of an xr2 so same tunning aplies. bolt on filter and exhaust, the go for a cam and some head work then put some twin 40 carbs on and have an over-bore and your looking at around 140bhp.

right, all i did to mine was put a K&n on it with a FULL xr2i exhaust (manifault back!)

his mads it a hell of a lot more responsive and a bit quicker.

Couple this with a ported head u should have a pritty rapid car!

Oh and i have a K&n for sale and if all goes well my exhaust will be aswell!!

apparently haynes made a manual called tuning CVH engines, will look into it as i will be getting myself a 1.6S on Weds if all goes to plan.

All of the above is true including the CVH tuning book by Haynes which incidently is like a bible, and will defiently help you to find extra ways of squeezing those all important extra ponies outta the engine :)

Ive currently only got a K&N on my 1.6s and that made a huge difference in throttle response, but I'm used to the difference now and require an exhust!

Ah the good old student life hey - restrictive :(
