Big Powered CVH
Is anybody here or seen a rather big spec'd 1600 CVH?
I am talking steel crank, rods, forged pistons and maybe dry sump?
The fiesta for me is a play thing and vaux is my love (waits for the abuse) but I am a little fed up of the "I have a 400 brake LET" story!
Any pointers? Is 400 brake on a CVH possible?

Re: Big Powered CVH
Anything is possible but how deep are your pockets?
There are quite afew RS Turbo's pushing out past the 300bhp barrier as 1600's (my own soon as well hopefully). Most people opt for dropping in the 2litre from a Mondeo and turboing that. A friens of mine is over the 400bhp mark and it's been described as "like trying to steer a missile using nothing but your arms". Having been it I'm inclined to agree.
Where's the pics of the Vaux them? I'm partial to a nicely fettled Vaux

Damn, I was hoping to see something XE or LET powered. pimsle at 550bhp in a Nova, that is going to be comical, absolute respect to the owner/builder
Can understand your feelings on keeping it 1600. Same reason I want to keep mine at the capacity it was orginally

Re: Big Powered CVH
like said earlier.. if you want to build an undriveable rocket.. go over the 300BHP on a FWD fiesta (mk1-5) .. you won't be able to put the power to the asphalt properly .. and still be able to keep it driveable.
everything is possible. .
but keep the triangle in mind: Cost - Power - reliability (lifetime) ..
If you want Power and reliability (with an engine that will survive longer then 10k for instance) .. you'll need a pretty big budget.. .. It's always a compromise.
