I would love to go down the gt30 route but they do cost about £1200-1300.

The T38 is a Harvey gibbs that is converted out of a T34 shell and modded. The TT unit is the one that most moan about as it's a complete waste of time and difficult to map.

Looks great chris, Gutting about the turbo, but sounds like you've got new plans already! :Q

Never went to see that 3dr as the guy decided to keep it, but he'll keep in touch

Mark nothing soon mate, just about to move mate and it's going to cost loads so i have to cut my never ending spending out.

Matty, are you ready to buy as i should have thought the other day my mate is selling a black 3dr that has 55k on the clock and i heard from another mate it's £7 - £7.5k.

It's just had a MSD conversion and is stock on the out side apart from an rs500 lower rear spoiler.

I'll pm pics and a vid of it flaming.

very nice, my neighbour had one of these and lockted it up in his garage for about 8 years because he couldnt be bothered with it, it was collecting dust and had boxes piled all on it, bit of a shame really

Right i have made a start on putting it back together but with waiting for small parts to arrive and working, sorting the house it's going slower than planned.

All the parts bar the 044 pump fitting kit, water hose & hose clamps.

Once theses parts are here i shall be able to get the turbo completely bolted up and then onto the breather system. I have all the braided hose & bumps.

Here's part of the new parts
Image

Engine bay as it stands - i had some spare nimbus alloy sheeting so made a secondary heat shield for the turbo manifold. The RS500 airbox and Escort cosworth cam pully cover have a fresh coat of satin black which tidies them up.

I'm in two mind if to fit a swedish plenum, i have my eye on one but i'll see what sort of price their after.

I have decided to get rid of the stand mirrors and go for the touring car look and purchase a set of these then mounted onto a set of custom either carbon or kevlar base plates.

Image

More to come over the next couple of days

Would like to have kept it standard but you know what happens when you run out of things to do you start modding

That is as far as i'm going, possibly :bonkers: I have a couple of ideas for carbon fibre. Carbon delights are currently working on a 3dr cosworth and producing RS500 rear spoilers upper and lower, bumpers, bonnet's, mirror base plates and so on.

Been busy over the last couple of weeks, i have all my coil pack conversion here ready to be installed, all hoses are fitted along with the new turbo cooler.

I have splashed out on a set of gaz coil overs so i can get the car to a perfect ride height, next on the shopping list is a set of adjustable TCA's.

Image

I'm still undecided about the side exit exhaust as finding the correct round - oval pipe and having a company local to me to weld it all together so for now it's at the bottom of the list.

But this was was the kid of design but a 45 degree bend

Image

I'll have the engine finished by the end of the weekend and Grp A fuel system all rewired and plumbed by the end of next week.

Image

Image

The week after next the car will back into the bodyshop ready for the arch modification (rolling) ready for the coilovers

Update time - well i waited until i had it runing to update the thread. I've had loads of issues with getting the car to run and it's cost me £££'s to get it right - to start with i never tested the ECU in the car before i sent it away to MSD for the wasted spark driver and new L8 chip so when it was returned and tested it failed with no power to all four injectors. I checked all the connections were right which they were so at that point i was stumped.

I got onto to Ryan at car looms uk who basically talked me through the complete wiring loom on a 3dr and we came to the conclusion that it's possible the 4 wires connected the injectors to the main fuel pump wire could have broken but to untape a 24 year old loom and expect ti to work afterwards was out of the question so a new loom was purchased with additional anti-lag for future development  - with the loom here and all fitted in the car (very pretty) it was a coplete pisser when i turned the key and nothing  (real tears  ) so back to the drawing board and back to the ECU, everything inside looked perfect with no burnt tracks etc and Stu fitting work very tidy it didn't appear to be a problem there. But to be on the safe side i sent it back to stu for comforation either way and it was conformed that the babyboard was shot so off on the hunt for a new board which cqame kindy of Tony at turbosystems tested and at my door in under 24hrs :D

So now it's all running and sounding mint again and ready for it's setup at the end of the month which i'm hoping for around 400 horse

New parts have been purchased whilst all the above has been going on and will be fitted by Thusday along with the coil overs, 044 pump -

New black header from AS
New black header cap rare gen Ford
New adjustable TCA's
More hoses silicon & braided
New rear brakes

I have my eye on a new complete set of FRS front brambos 330mm :oooh: to help stop it with the extra power

More updates and pictures when the cars suspension setup is done.
