rs_brammer :Tyres are only £18 in what ever size as long as we make them at our factory, well we make 15-17" p6000 and i know we make 215/40/17 p zero so i'd just grab some test tyres.
£18 per tyre....i like the sound of that... any for sale....

Were on a limited 8 tyre per year allowance Jon, no real perks in this job. 15" have stopped for the time bening we're producing mainly 22"+ at the minute which are no good too me or any Fiesta/Escort owner

Due to other things needed on the car they had to take a back seat for now, the standard wheels in refurbed condition are more than good enough.

Yes mate i'm about to chuck a massive amount of money into the car but once it's done it's done.
Just got my 6 paddle through today which should hold the power down, i had to go this route as the new motorcraft clutch plate in the car won't hold the power and was told that if the clutch give up halfway through the setup they would be completely aborted.
A couple of other parts that are needed are:
- Alloy radiator
- Rocker cover converted for breather pipe
- Grp A coil
- New motorsport plug leads
- K&N panel filter
- new power steering rack
This lot should skint me for a bit

Re: Black Sierra Cosworth - 24/04 Update time again
Thats lovely Shaun,
The wheels are awesome and completely suit the car to a T but the price is just a little bit too much, i think i've payed for all the new bits with the money i would have spent on a set of them

Re: Black Sierra Cosworth - 24/04 Update time again
Here we go again, another car in the bodyshop and a few tears at it being ripped apart but it'll be mint when finished
It looks like the whole car is having a respray now not just the plastics.
Rust issues are very minimal which is good, a small bit under the airbox and a bit at the bottom of the rear passenger arch.

Re: Black Sierra Cosworth - Bodyshop again 28/04
check oil daily - iirc in the owners mnual it mentions that the engine can consume up to 1-2litres of oil every 1k miles!
on a different note, the body shop guy must love you
it does look very clean under the kit, should be a fairly straight forward job, not like the fiesta he jus did
cant wait to see the results, the guy you use looks like a real expert every car he does always comes out perfect

Cheers lads, yep he kind of loves me
It should look A1 when it returns, i'll be back down there in the morning to do a bit.
First bits are to sort the bottom rear arch, small bit on the inner wing and an a small repair to the top of the passenger wing.
More updates soon.

MarkRS2K :your a nutter!!
I'm starting to think that Mark Look at what we've done today
Engine bay work, a couple of areas on the inner wings needed sorting
Area of concern on the passenger wing, this has had a previous repair which was built up with fibreglass so all that has been removed and a piece welded in and a sheet of metal welded from underneath and red oxide applied.
And the arse end
More updates tomorrow

Well it'll be with me until i have enough ££££ to put towards something else.
I forgot i got this through the post today, £47 off ebay and it's build quality is similar to the bailey turbo damper that costs 3 times that so i'm made up and a free set of stainless cam cover bolts

jayrs :unlike you to have a wing fixed, would of thought you would of had a new one put on
The massive problem is Jay you just can't get genuine ones anymore, well you i know where their is one but it's up for mega money i think as it's one of the few remaining so that the reason for the repair or it would be off there in a flash. The repair is very very good and will not cause any future problems as the rot has been cut right out and skinned underside too.
Having a close inspection at the car yesterday i was quiet please with it considering it's 22 years only and the only big bits was the front wing and the bottom of the rear arch which is an easy fix. The bonnet, bootlid and doors are very good which is a releaf as they command massive money in used but mint condition.

Re: Sierra Cosworth - More bodyshop (What have i done LOL!!!!)
oh yeah fully agree mate, thought it would be something like that, but as you say dobne right will cause no problems, at the end of the day thats how the old skool classic cars are repaired.
althought i have a gen ford brand new passanger wing for the xr2 (which has rot in the same place as yours cossie! lol) i am thinking of fixing the wing rather than replacing it to save the hassle of replacing it, but ill cross that when i come to it, rs first

Why Mark have you got one lying in your shed and willing to sell to me for £10 on a serious note i would say it could bring £200 easy but it all depends on how much someone wants it.
jayrs :rs first
