Re: Sierra 3dr Cosworth - lowered
Thanks for all the comments, the car is at it's vey lowest but i have still yet to put a couple of miles road test in the make sure it is completely suited then i can alter the damper adjustment to suite.
The car is going for a setup this week so fingers crossed everything goes as it should, i still have the fuel pump rewiring kit to fit as the voltage was down at the last setup and could have caused detination beyond 6k
More updates soon.

Re: Sierra 3dr Cosworth - lowered
Update time again, went to msd and got the car setup - all in all it went well. They set the boost to 30psi, modded the greys for a better spray pattern, added a dump valve as it was needed due to the amount of pressure, checked the voltage which was over 13.5 which is excellent, ACT's were as low as 24 so airtec coolers are proven to perform with the best of them. going by some of the figures it appears that te head has had work to the throats and the estimated power is 400bhp
BUT............. The car packed up 15 miles into it's journey home, the fault isn't 100% diagnosed yet but i have the battery on and will know more in the morning. What happened is the car started to splutter and tap and fired on 3 so when i was able to move over and roll onto the hard shoulder the car had cut out and coasted to it's stop. It's wouldn't start really but with the amount of tries it could have flooded it right up.
I'll try to make this next bit brief - tow truck came - car too low - i said i'll take bumper off (3 min job) he said no - 30 mins later it's on the truck with a scratched splitter - journey to the next services to wait for mechanic - noticed tow eye bent - closer inspection shows crossmember is bent - i will claim - car tested - starts on what sounds like 2 cylinders with a slight metalic noise - mechanics turns off and won't touch it after that - won't lend me tools to remove plugs clean and retry - £120 to add to breakdown to get car home - another truck - bumper off in less than 3 mins - on back of truck and home. checked this morning for more damage and bend in one rear wheel off ratchet strap (may smack out with rubber hammer)
400bhp for 15 mins was fun - more updates tomorrow folks

The bit on the wheels thats damaged is the very outer lip, i think they will bend back with a rubber hammer but it's not the point. I'm ringing them now.
Tried the car this morning and it looks like the heads coming off for inspection as it won't fire and it's pops like a heavy compression pop, were from i don't know but the smell of fuel is making me feel funny slightly dissaponted as i really wanted to show it at our regional show next Sunday

Well according to other people the popping sound is normal on wasted spark cars and it's sounding to be more likely knocked out of timing and more of an electrical problem so we'll see. But issues like this are pushing me more and more to traing it in for something else like a vauxhall nova Na nutsack that i'll put up with it

If any internal parts are ever replaced an oil change is always top of the to do list, hopefully most bit's will go with the oil and the remaining fragments hopefully should be picked up in the filter.
