Anyone know the spec on a 'Black Top Zetec' ?

Anyone got any idea bout fittin one in an XR3i ?

Effectively the same as the metal top 90ps 1600, and 105/115/130ps 1800 and 136ps 2.0L engines, but the engine and alternator mountings are significantly different.

Project ST2000 :Effectively the same as the metal top 90ps 1600, and 105/115/130ps 1800 and 136ps 2.0L engines, but the engine and alternator mountings are significantly different.

The zetec-r is metal too Al ;) just a lightweight magnesium alloy.

No real advantage to fitting the black top mate, except a bit more refinement.

I've got a 90ps 16v Si, would the rocker cover off lets say a 1.8 focus fit?

As far as I can tell, the black-top cover is significantly higher than the shiny-tops and I doubt the crossover charge pipe would fit under the bonnet.

Cam belt cover is different shape to match it.

It may work mate - there are 2 heights to the cam covers - the higher one is usually the 9:1 compression engine and the low one is the UK 10.5:1

The Higher cover can also be the 10.5:! but is usually on the VCT engine.

Your right though because the zetec-e has a cut out at the back for the crossover pipe dosent it...

thought i read somewhere that the two could be changed over? if this is te case couldnt u put a shiny top one on the Zetec R?
