i go colelge in coventry, this lunch i went into the pub had a few come out to hear summat about a bomb..i thort people were joking but thennn..

Bomb squad called on unexploded bomb in Coventry city centreMar 12 2008

POLICE have cordoned off parts of Coventry city centre after an unexploded World War Two bomb was discovered close to the Belgrade Theatre.

The device was discovered by builders working on the Belgrade Plaza complex.

So far Junction 1 and Junction 8 of the ring road have been closed and traffic is being prevented from driving along Upper Well Street and Radford Road.

West Midlands Police bomb squad have been called and are on route to the scene.

Builders are working on the Belgrade Plaza development which inclues hotels and shops.

Shame it didn't go off it might have improved a part of Coventry. :P

nice, still it hasnt gone off (yet) so not all bad

was in the paper last year about 2 unexploded anti aircraft shells being found under a pile of scrap at my local scrap yard when they were moving it around.

how the hell do you suddenly find a pair of shells that size in a scrap yard!?! its not as if the pile had been there that long! :lol: if it had the bloke would have been worth a fair bob if he had sold it back in the day :lol:

that is being sarcastic as well, i take it someone had decided to weigh them in or they had simply been un-earthed by the disruption of the pile of scrap....

i think they were only small ones, like 50mm or something, mind you there still be long, but yeah the scrap yard had a clear around, and im guessing they were under the pile of scrap thats been there donkies, i mean ive lived on the isle of wight for 12 years and uptill last year a fcuk off great mound of scrap metal never moved, and yes the owner is worth some money, he owns the only 2 scrap yards on the isle of wight now
