I wouldn't wanna be within 10 miles of the bottom end while your top end's enjoying 50psi though!

Good stuff m8 - what boost will you be running now? (50psi???) :Q

You do ring the block.

A groove is machined in the cylinder face of the block, then wire (usually welding wire) is partially fitted into the groove to give a pressure point on the head gasket.

The trouble is you need to do this EXACTLY as any variations in the depth causing high points will lift the gasket away from the block and create a poor seal.

The join in the wire must be perfect as well, or again, a gap will be created and present a weak point in the gasket seal.

I've never heard of wire ringing the head before. Doesn't sound a good idea, bearing in mind the FRST head is cast aluminium.

wire ringing your engine block will not stop your "pinking", that is due to lack of fuel. You say you have beige injectors, but have you upgraded your fuel pump ??
