Boost Valve

Postby PUREtom on Tue Feb 01, 2005 4:09 pm

Just curious what the boost valve actually is?
I know you can get one for 1.6 Si, but never asked about them before.

Anyone got any info please, pics and price at all? Where can i get one too?

Cheers

Tom

boost valve is just a fuel regulator, it allows more fuel in than a normal one and it increases acceleration slightly. i had one on my old 2i and you could just about notice the difference. i got mine brand new off ebay for £40, think their about £70 if you buy it from a store and you can get them from any modding place usually.

my friend has one on his escort, he fitted it before he was having a tune up, he reckons that they are good when they are set up correctly but dont do a lot when you just bolt them on. hth

Yeah my dad said they've been around for years and don't do fook all!

Theres all these ebay Si's with boost valve, ecotek and 2.0 litre throttle body, but none of these do fook all! Maybe if ya have all of them ya get a slight edge!

I wouldnt get it. I notice that my Si has a mad moment with it. It will sometimes go well then some times be rubbish. Save your pennies and get a Rs1800 in your bay, second to that buy my superchip.
