Brake Calipers for Ventilated Discs WANTED

Need a certain part or accessory?

Postby fiestakingfisher on Thu Jul 19, 2001 3:15 pm

I'm converting my 1.1 Fiesta to 1.6S spec, and need the front calipers from a 1.6S/XR2i or better. Discs and pads as well if new and unused. And rear drums too if the 1,1 spec items are smaller than on the 1.6.

I would be interested in any other parts that I might need for the conversion if anybody has them spare, too. (So far I've managed to source a front anti-roll bar, and a radiator.) I'm thinking of the driver side engine mount, exhaust etc etc. Wiring isn't a problem.

Thanks,
Louise.

I heard that Van breaks are better than stadard car ones as they are made to have heavier loads... defo seem to have more "bite" then other feistas I driven. if this is true, I'll soon have XR2i ones on my van  doubt they'll be as good as xr2i, but poss better then 1.0 ones..

anyone know if I'm talkin bollox or not?

not bollox. Van brakes are indeed uprated over the hatchback; from experience my Courier van had vented discs as standard on the front and when these needed replacing, the part number was identical to those for an XR2i.

I would imagine (but not 100% sure) that the regular Fiesta van would be similarly equipped.

So no point in changing van brakes to XR2i brakes as they are the same thing!

Don't think I'm gonna be turning any spanners on this particular project James, I'm at the wrong end of the country! but a trip to the scrappy yesterday turned up two 1.6S mk3s (plus 2x 1.4 Ghia as well unusually) of which one donated its radiator and fan.

Forgot to whip out the engine bay distributor etc wiring loom section, as usual, though! I take it you got around this without too much hassle?
