brake calliper seals

Postby paradox on Sun Jun 04, 2006 7:18 pm

I bought a set of cosworth disks and callipers a bit ago and decided to fit them with new seals.
Ive stripped the callipers down cleaned them up and painted them i fitted the inner o ring seal no problem but when it comes to fitting the dust seal and getting the piston back in ive had major problems and ended up ripping the dust seal.

Has any one else overhauled there callipers with new seals or can any one tell me if your supposed to fit the dust seal before fitting the piston or is it the other way round.
I have just orderd a new set of seals at another £20 cost i would like it to go back together smoothly with no problems next time.

Any information or hints/tips would be greatfully recieved.
