Brake Pads Gone - Update

Postby Modder_Phill on Sat Sep 06, 2003 3:29 pm

I think my brake pads are knackered, while motorway driving and hard braking my car was shuddering, felt like it was the brakes so i think its time for new pads.

However ive booked it in for a service at work so dont want them to chuck in any old ones...can anyone recommend any performance pads? Cant do full brake set-up yet due to cash/and alloys arnet on yet.

if its juddering u have warped yer discs, new pads will not solve it, u need discs and pads, ebc are crap qulity, national 8 groove are fine, black dimond, just go for sommat with 8 grooves or less no drilled holes, or standard stuff if yer skint!, ferrodo pads are the best then mintex.

Update - it appears 2 discs and 2 pads need replacing, however as im getting 16's soon i might as well get the full lot done. If i just replace them with the same Si units what will they look like? As i work at Ford can anyone suggest any other models that will fit straight on and look better as i can get staff discount.

Im not bothered about great stopping power as the engine is standard I just want new discs that look decent and not rusted up. :)
