brake question

Postby FezzyMK3.5 on Tue Jun 10, 2003 3:14 pm

I have recently noticed that everytime i brake theres a horrible like crunching noise that i think is coming from the rear of the car, and i dont think it sounds like the pads need replcaing !
I wondered if i need new drums at the back !?

Look for any signs of metal been cutting into the drums i.e. putting grooves into the drum or flakes of metal.

Ill go have a look now chum ! i probably explained it a bit wrong tho the noises are more sort of like a scrapping like sandpaper, like theres sumthing that has worn down that needs replacing ! If it is the drums how much is it likely to cost !? as i woz planning on doing a rear disc conversion and now mite b a good time !

New drums from Ford are probably around £80, so if you were planning a read disc conversion now would be a good time :)
