Brakes and 15" wheels...... anyone got 300mm?

Postby mintwhiters on Wed Jan 13, 2010 10:57 pm

I have a neighbour who had 406 Coupe Brembo discs behind 15" compomotive TH alloys on a 106.... he had about 1mm between calliper and rim but it did fit, the 406 brakes are 300mm has anyone managed to do something similar on a fiesta/escort/ka with 15" wheels?

I was thinking of trying fiat coupe or the 406 brembos but don't want to waste cash if they won't fit behind 15" escort gti (cosworth style) alloys

Im just about to have some brackets made up for a Brembo caliper that will fit with an ST170 disc.

300MM disc and this will fit under certain 15" wheels most of which are a motorsport wheel.

Im still on the alloy belled disc mate but it turns out the "custom" kit i asked for is a "standard" fitment st170 disc

So I have reverted to making up my own spec caliper/bracket to grip them...

BUT if people want a nice priced brake set up then the brackets are here if peeps need them.

The old caliper only had pad contact on half the width of the disc, I could have stopped the car better using my ears!

Well i bought them from Wenny as an unknown fitment, he cant remember what they were off...

So i chanced it....... I think they are from a Porsche Boxter and the rears!

They got for £150 ish on Ebay il have to get another set and check though to be sure....

But at most your looking at say 150 for calipers 100 for discs and then a set of brackets at £500 from me

No I imagine they will be about £30 machined up.

The Focus Rs calipers are lugged some are radial mounted which makes it easier to fit under 15"
