Std disks with a good brake pad ....... dont bother with grooved disks they fill up with dust and become useless

I'm sorry but grooved or grooved and dimpled discs are fine and will improve breaking, only thing you have to be careful of is crossdrilled as they are prone to cracking due to the continuity of the ddisc material being weakened.
I have experience of it myself and why would so many performance brake manafacturers make them and so many race cars etc use them if they were useless.

But because of the contact area is smaller than normal discs, surely drilled/grooved discs are only really effective when very hot?

Anyway, sod that, grooved discs look better :D

From experience of having grooved disks and using my car everyday they fill up with brake dust and become useless ............. thats using EBC stuff. Also, if you do go with std disks dont use Greenstuff pads, they warp std disks VERY easily...... again going by experience.

Thats why im running std disks and pads with dot 5.0 fluid. For everyday road use i find they cope well.

Err dont use DOT 5.0 though, it's not designed for the Fiesta brake cylinder. Use 4 or 5.1 which is similar to 4
