brakes?

Postby sihart-frst on Wed Jun 26, 2002 1:09 am

the standard brakes are $hit on my frst. and the abs feels like its cutting in to early and feels like u could stop better with out it at times, but what the best up grade to go for pads, pads & discs etc and do drilled disks make much difrence or is it better changing calipers etc.
cheers si

EBC discs are very good...as are black diamond discs....pads wise, EBC are pretty good, as are AP Racing (even their normal range), Mintex, Pagid fast road...theres loads out there! just depends on ur budget

drilled discs do make a SLIGHT difference but i dont think ud be able to notice to be honest...they just cool the discs as air moves through them.

P.S, change ur discs and pads to see how u get along first

i have 4x4 cossie setup up the front and RS2k rear disks to go on!

mostly for the looks more than the stopping power

get some goodridge braded brake hoses i find they make a bit of difference !

if stopping is what u want get cossie 4x4 disks and calipers !

278mm disks i think so will need 15" wheels or bigger. I

payed £160 with some slightly used grooved disks from North London RS centre

i would get the abs unit checked out first, it could be a faulty pump.....if youre abs dont work properly your mota will fail the MOT...

might be worth bleedin the system out first....could be vapour lock
