depending on how much power u gna push out and whats your budget. Anything from a std size upraded disc & pad set up to a 4pot conversion.

ST170 seems very popular but u need 17" rims.

4x4 cosworth caliper and disks i think. supposed to go on and be pretty good. mondeo V6 ones go on with some minor adjustments too.

not looked into it too much, so couldnt say for certain. id go cosworth :bonkers:

brakes

Postby rs_craig on Tue Dec 28, 2004 4:25 pm

hi
cheapest and easist upgrade to get hold of is mondeo calipers
with rs2000 disks(260mm)
discs are roughly £50 pair brand new
calipers should be no more than £20 from a breakers
mondeo discs are slightly different so wont go on
you will only have to drill your hub out to accept the bigger bolt on the caliper

If you have 14" wheels go for Escort RS2000 calipers and disks (260mm)
If you have 15" wheels go for Mondeo V6 calipers and disks (278mm)

After that there are Focus ST170 brakes and calipers which are 300mm but you need at least 16's for those

The Escort RS2000 calipers and disks are a direct fit.
The Mondeo calipers need the mounting bracking drilling slightly bigger and the face machined slightly

Same goes for the Focus ST170 setup. Gadget on here used to sell these brake kits all made up, and if not I believe X-Factor does as well

I shouldnt have thought more than £100 for it all.

They could be a little hard to locate, but worth it for simplicity and they do provide a decent increase in braking performance
