braking problem

Postby dee_RS_2ltr on Mon Jun 13, 2005 6:57 pm

when i brake the steering wheel shakes violently and the whole car wobbles. i reckon i need to change the pads on the back but they passed the MOT the other day. should i just change the pads anyway and see if it stops? i think its just the rear ones that are the problem, they are RS2000 brakes setup, the front is a cossie setup.

cheers peeps :D

pads wear down to face of the disc's if there was any think on the pad it would wear off, when the disc warps it because the disc's get's to hot and when metal get's hot it change's shape and metal never go's back to it's original shape

if your steering wheel shakes violently under braking then id suggest looking at the front brakes first. ive never come across a warped rear disc causing the steering to shake? although stranger things have happened

Warped discs would indeed shudder through the steering wheel, issues with the pads would be a smooth feeling, your discs will most likely be the cause.
