OK, the more u breath the better you perform right? If u don't your dead. Whats a Turbo?
A turbo sucks air from the environment and pumps it into the engine where there is more oxygen to burn, so more fuel can be added to burn resulting in more power, hence why turbos are thirsty, or so this is my understanding. So basically the better your car breathes, especially on a turbo, the better it will perform, although you can overdo it I think.

The better the car breathes the less likely you`re gonna get blown gaskets/seals.
+ if you`ve raised the boost you`re gonna get more blow by past the rings which means you raise the crackcase pressure which is gonna cause seals to go pop.
