1. to carry, convey, or take (something or someone) to a designated place or person
2. to cause to happen: responsibility brings maturity
3. to cause to come to mind: it brought back memories

6. to sell for: the painting brought a large sum

a. to institute (proceedings, charges, etc.)

Phrasal Verbs:

To bribe (an official, for example) in order to secure improper cooperation or gain exemption from a regulation or legal consequence.

To purchase the entire stock, business rights, or interests of.
