Building a new 2.1 ZETEC (or larger) stroker kit required
Morning all
I'm embarking on a project to increase the capacity of a 2.0 Zetec engine.
I'm looking at Vauxhall pistons std crank and std rods which raises capacity to 2073cc.
With different crank/rods, anyone know what size I can take a 2.0 block up to?
Anyone bought steel rods/cranks from the states?

I know that the zetec block cam be taken out to 88mm with liners to get back the strength to give 2140cc.
I've also looked into this and a 2.3 could be done with a longer strock crank

That is another option but a very expencive option as he would have to start all over again having to make a new exhaust and mounts for the engine and so on.

Mate of mine is building a 2.3 Duratec using the 2.0 Duratec block. The 2.3 is quite a bit taller than the 2.0, so he's gone for a steel crank, rods etc.
Reckons it'll produce 300BHP when complete.
I'm sticking with the 2.0 Zetec for starters.
I have no rods, just a std crank and block.

I'm going for 2.1 using vauxhall pistons, std crank and steel rods. Should then be safe rev to 9000rpm with ARP bolts.
Aiming for 230BHP

Sounds like you're aiming for an engine similar to my dad's. That makes 227bhp and is ok to be limited to 8,500rpm, but will rev to 9,000 I think. That's a Dunnell engine.

Mine should be ready in a month or so. Just need to find somewhere to run it in (Brunters maybe)
I have to do some wiring to get the additional bank of injectors wired in. Rolling road session is probably going to cost a fair wedge too.

I don't know if you've seen Graham but there is to be another Fiesta Thrash taking place at Bruntingthorpe See the thread in Events, we haven't excluded the older generations of Fiestas! It'll be a bit of a blast day though, so not really a running in session. Still, you might want to bear it in mind for if you get it set up and run in by then, get yourself some times and speeds straight way on the new engine! Keep us updated

I plan to do this at a later date,
What the spec of your exhaust and exhaust manifold, as the bore look a bit small for the power your aiming for?
