building a zetec turbo

i know most of the cars on this site are turbos anyway, but what parts do you need to convert a zetec to turbo?

i have a 2l and wouldnt mind a bit of extra power, if i cant get it turbo'd it'll being the bike carb route.

do a search mate, there are countless build threads from basix zetec turbos that cost 500 quid to 10k.
as for bike carbs i wouldnt bother dave walker actually slates people who fit them as they are strangling the engine.

if you wanna turbo its not good mate really!, if you wanna use bike stuff you want bike thottle bodys not carbs!! or maybe try modding nissan pulsar arangement?

i wouldnt bother tho as its just not worth it imo on a turbo car, the big hp cars on here are all single tb setup, running gt series turbos and decent size injectors!

as for building the engine what do you want from it? how much you wanna spend on it?

it was a slightly sarcastic  mate, i know i never said, was too busy thinking of something else
for the money to fit bike carbs, you can do other mods to produce the same if not more HP ( assuming you dont fabricate it all yourself)

 classic

Im not sure of the cost of bike carbs exactly, i thought it would be around 400 quid mark ( 75 quid for carbs unsure on manifold but thought 200 then getting it stuck on RR to get the carbs re-jetted and misc bits like linkage, fuel pump etc).

400 quid is almost enough for a brand new NOS kit, its enough for cams, or if your clever just about enough to turbo it

Im not saying from personal experience, but dave walker is a bit of a well known guru, and it was his advice to someone to ditch the bike carbs.

whats going on with your sig ruishy?

tlak to jonboisescort for tips on amking a good budget TB build

i recall him using rubber/samco pipes to join the bodies to a inelt (zetec cast or efi cast for what engine were using zetec or cvh) and aftermarket management

take a look in his escorts thread

but id say from what ive seen the turbo is much more value for money than a TB set up as it can be taken alot futher
