Caliper brackets for bigger discs???
Asking on behalf of my mate.
He has a frst on 16" rims and wants to put bigger discs on it with standard calipers.
Can you put escort cosworth discs on with standard calipers?
If so whre do you get the caliper brackets from and how much money are they?
And how about focus ST170 discs with standard calipers?
Thanks for any help,Kris.

Whats the point, it will look crap with a large section of the disc all rusty and it wont brake as well as a decent cossie caliper set anyhow
It's not like they are that expensive. He could probably get discs, pads and calipers for around £150.

ooh handbags
How is it a fake
It's an XR2i, I have never said it is otherwise and I believe the documentation will clearly state it's an xr2i. It just happens to be a damn site faster than most xr2i's
And it has proper brakes

play nicely children
i happen to like the colour and bumpers on stoned car very much, not that im bias
stoned is a very clean example of a well modded festa, lets not start getting petty about whats on the log book, mine says Azura and was an 1100, but now its a fully rebuilt, rs1800 engined, custom leather interior, SQ quaility ICE install, fully worked festa, so i dont thk what the car 'was' is important at all

btw back to the orignal posting point, spacer mounts are normally crap, i had cossie discs on std calipars and spacers made by one of the best so called specailst brake companys and it was crap! wobbled and was the worst £280 i had ever spent! took them off 2 weeks later and sold them for £30!!! i got std esc cos discs with calipars with green stuff pads which cost me about £200 all together and it stops better than all the tarox, ebc, grooved, drilled etc combinations i have tried b4
lets face it, if grooves and drilled stuff made that much of a difference ford would put them on the Focus RS etc, only super cars need that level of refinement and that comes in at a hell of a lot more money than £50 for a set of 'super duper EBC turbo grooved swanky wanky discs'

Chill Fras,im only havin a joke with him
All this is for my mate anyway, looks arent important to him as long as they do a job improving the braking power and lets face it going from 240 to 280mm discs will make a huge difference, standard calipers or not.
His car is standard power due to insurance.
As for grooved discs, they make a massive difference if the car is used hard, trust me
Proper cars have 4 pots as standard

grooves - maybe
drilled - no way, only reason drilled was invented was for race cars to have less rotating weight, heat dispersion etc is all hear-say. they have less pad > disc area so = less braking. only drilled discs worth having are the merc and porsche ones which cost ££££
all the grooved ones i have had warp when driven hard, then again i did manage to 'blue' the last set, they weren much cop after that

Ive got a set of 260mm six groove discs on the S1 and theyve been on for 4 years with mintex 1144 pads and i have given them death big time and they dont fade and never warped.
I had plain discs on my frst, tried both red dot and 1144's and they faded to the point of being on fire within 2/3 minutes and that was a standard engine!
Fook all that cheap crap now,its time for some A.P 6 pots with 330mm discs for the 3dr Cosworth, now thats what you call PROPER brakes
