calliper and disc issues
Hi all,
as you might know i have a Cossie 4x4 setup at the front.
A m8 of mine has a different brake setup on his MK4 fiesta (mazda)
He's running: Cougar discs and Mondeo V6 (283mm) callipers
I have to space out my wheels 10mm due to catching on the calliper.
Due to this spacing out.. my centre hub is not in contact with the wheel itself.. leaving the wheel a bit unbalanced every now and then .. which is very annoying.
my m8 is running on 15" without catching the calliper
now my questions..
1) Is the standard setup (offset) of the MK3 and MK4 the same ??
2) is the mondie calliper (for the 283mm setup the same as a cossie 4x4 calliper ??
3) what offset difference is there between the Cougar disc and the cossie 4x4 disc ??
4) will mounting some cougar discs and re-spacing my cossie callipers help me fit my alloys without or with smaller spacers ??
a lot of questions.. i know.. but just want to get rid of the shaky ride due to bad wheel centring..

You could always draw up a plan of the spacer and get some machined by an engineering shop, with a central boss for the wheel to locate on. Simplest method rather than going to the expense of changing many parts.

i know.. but..
with a 10mm spacer .. there is just 4 to 5mm centre hub left (of the total 14 or 15mm) .. .. so a 10mm spacer with centring hub will not fit.. cause the standard centring hub is still sticking out..
