Piper 285T2 isnt a good cam.

Kent CVH34 or the Newman's... they are really the oposite when it comes to top-end power!

CVH34 was originaly design by Ahmed Bayjoo cause there was no cam to replace the std one with similar std cam spec.

The Newman's one for the CVH turbo is the hottest cam around. You'll need a custom live maped chip for it if your keeping std management.

I just wonder... even with the car properly maped (even using a better ecu than the std FRST one) will it pass MOT? I belive that in uk your cars must pass the gas emissions (1.5 of CO I think)... will this cam be ok?

There is only one cam for the CVH turbo engine. Is the FORC/276/409T. The other one is for the ZVH engine (as the subtitle says).

I really doubt that he fundamented is cam choice on your turbo. If you're running a 165 chip, then going anything wilder than the CVH34 cam will give you lean combustion at high rpm... detonation is not something that you would like to have.

the only safe way to go above "wild" is with a custom live maped chip to suit all your engine mods.

CVH34 is to exchange the std cam and keep the all around good power.

CVH35 is for high rpm power.

CVH36 delivers a little less top end power than the CVH35 but gives you a better mid-range torque, which is better for revving.

The Newman cam is the "race cam". Top end and you'll only get back some mid-range torque if the car is properly live mapped. Escort MFI injection doesn't go too well with this cam.
