Hi chaps, can anyone tell me if i can get a -60mm spax kit for my si..

its the FBJ chassis, so i guess the same as RS1800 etc..

-55 will be alright.. but so far all ive found is -30 which imo looks not much different to standard.

please im not asking for opinions on what to get or what does and doesent work, im just asking if anyone knows the above..

sorry but newb posters seem to deviate from the original question..

I don't think Spax do a 60mm lowering version. Easiest way is to just give them a call they are very helpful on the phone, tel number is: 01869 244771. I have a PSA040 kit on my fiesta and you can only just get two figures between the arch and the tyre so 60mm would scrape on the tyre.

Stick to the 30mm kit seriously 60mm is too low and ruins the way the car drives. I've just binned off a 55mm kit for a 30mm kit and the transformation for the better is unbeleivable and as the geometry has been corrected I seem to have gained mechanical grip as well.

im getting a set of lower arms off ian howells.. so geometry isnt an issue.. ill be running 15" alloys and 50 profile tyres.. ive already found the ones i want, this is going from 17's which was my original plan (had all the stick for it too)

ive heard the 30mm kit doesent look much different from standard, i dont like ass high fiestas, ive found a 55 front 60 rear kit which apparently levels it out nicely.. but then again can i adjust the rear height via the torsion spring? and how much available adjustment there is i dont know..

thing is im on standard high millage suspension, anything is gonna be better :P

thanks for all your replys chaps very helpful :Q any contributions to this post would be much appriciated.

I would've thought 50 profile tyres would be too thick on a 30mm drop never mind a 60. a 35mm drop looks nice. Here's mine standard and dropped 35:

50 profile tyres are too much fella and the excessive drop doesn't just affect the geometry it also leaves you with nest to no suspension travel. On a nice smooth track this isn't a problem, on the pothole network our government has the cheek to call roads it's a big problem.

I just wouldn't do it full stop, it's too low and ruins the way the car drives. The adjustable arms will go some way to help but it will still drive like a sack of arse. I'd far rather have something functional than pretty. I look at overly low cars and just laugh as they bounce all over the road. I keep seeing a chump in my home town with a 5 door blue 106 with Lexus lights and the bumpers are almost scraping the road. The 12 year old at the wheel thinks it looks brilliant but it couldn't out corner a dog on a polished wooden floor

well thanks for the pictures they really do help, and oranoco i had to laugh at what you said about the roads

i guess i should accept what im hearing, i guess the arms and a 30mm drop would actually be pretty good..

is a 50 profile the lowest i can go on 15s?

the spax kit isnt to pricey really, fiestacenter are selling gmax kits but meh...gmax :S

alright chaps i guess ill be buying the 30mm kit then.. what about the rear will i be able to level it via the torsion bar? i dont want it to be higher at the back

on my si Ive got the -30mm spax kit and was told that this is actually -55mm because the Si was 25mm lower than the standard fez?

Anyway, it rides superbly (as long as you dont mind how stiff it is), the handleing is faultless (although it is polybushed all round with strut braces front and back).

this is how it sits on 16's, sorry no better pics at the moment:

no its not 55mm lower mate, the high is in the suspension so essentialy youve only gained 5mm if thats the case.

which makes me just want the 50kit even more :S

45 Profiles are easy to get hold of. I think 9/10 people running 15s on a Fiesta have 45s.

As for the Si, they aren't lower, only the XR2i and FRST was lower. (10mm and 25mm respectively I think)

V6, yours looks lower because you have 16s on, which closes the gap on the arches, looks like a 35/40 (same thing) drop to me but can't see much cos it's dark.

I did have 45's on my 15" alloys but they cost alot more than 50's so i now have 50's and imo they do look better, although scrub abit. the other day i had 60's on, lmfao, under any slight deceleration it would scrape the arches and the wheels wouldnt even turn!

I was led to believe that the kit for the si, the lower 30mm one was the original -25mm plus the 30mm, as mine is defo more than 5mm lower than original

Decent 195/45/15 are only £60-£70 a corner :-? WHy put the wrong size tyre on when you're talking about such a small amount of cash? :-?

only problem is the seller does the alloys with 50's, ill see if they can supply 45's instead.

Well i can get cheepo tyres for £27 per corner 50's, or things like pirreli, toyo, yoko ect for around £30-£33 a corner.

Go for 45's by all means, but as im skint, the extra (roughly 1cm) tyre hight (about 5mm extra car hight) doesnt bother me.

Spot on fella, cheap budget tyres are such a false economy. Even my runabout gets good quality rubber (Continental Sport Contacts 225/45/17 in a W rating and £108 a corner). They are the only point of contact between you and the road. Never fails to surprise me the number of cars I see at shows where people have spent a wedge on posh brakes and suspension and go faster bits and then slap on some Marshall, Nankang or some other ditch finder :-?
