Can I just clear something up please...
I am really beginning to get fed up with the comments etc regarding wanting a new car, some of you are fine with it but there are a few individuals... and I'm sure you know who you are, who just need to keep your opinions to yourself.
So for the record, I will get the car of my choice, if you think I'm quitting to soon then you think that but at the end of the day if I feel I want something newer, more reliable etc then I'll do that, the car I have isn't worth the amount it would cost to insure, group 6 for this car is to much for what it is and I would much rather spend money on something newer etc that's worth the insurance
Rant over

Re: Can I just clear something up please...
Fair play Ben mate!
I haven't had any negative comments actually but I'm sure its just a minority of people who see fit to be defensive about someone "dis-owning" a Fiesta. I'm being a bit defensive now because I'm in the same situation as Ben and I know how fed up I'd be at these comments too.
How can anyone take the offensive on someone wanting better for themselves? ie a newer car which is much cheaper to run. Even TPFT is a rip off to be honest on the smaller engine Fiesta's which are such a high insurance group. My 1.3 M Reg fezza is in insurance group 6 and I can't justify spending that much money on a 15-year old car.
Much newer, more reliable and convenient cars (with central locking, ABS, leccy windows and all that business) are insurance group 4 or lower. The 1.0 Corsa C comes in a 1.0 version, which is something ridiculous like group 2 insurance.
If I can buy a newer car that will be cheaper in the long run due to lower running costs then I will, and so will Ben, regardless of which Ford Enthusiast's bubble it bursts.
Sorry for a long post, aimed at those narrow minded people who have no empathy skills. Any narrow minded stupid/moronic comments from half whits who type faster than they can think, are very welcome.

If you want to refer to it as a "mikey_b thread" then you do that, but if I want to address something and tell people how I feel, then I will do that, just the same as Mike did.
If you want to get on your high horse and then automatically assume that this post is about you, then fine you do that.

What I say on msn has nothing to do with FT as far as I'm concerned.
Just had a quick browse around too and can't find anything on here that would provoke this thread

i agree with the above, there has been no evidence that anyone has been giving you grief about getting another car, FFS the mods on here hardly drive fiestas anymore, this isnt a fiesta only site, its a community of friends, TBH i wish you had just upped and went, as this has been a waste of space and time.

Nah Ben dont need to thank me, its stupid.
Whats this post actually done to offend ANYONE? Why come here and start posting a load of craapp on it ?
The way I see it, if someone slates your Mum, go and punch em in the face, if someone beats your kid up or pushes your missus about, go and punch em in the face, but don't sit on here giving it all the "look how clever I am" crap to someone who just came on here to have a little moan about something he was justified in being upset and angry about.

Re: Can I just clear something up please...
Don't worry - and not all of the members are the same so branding the whole of FT as arses or fuckers is a little uncalled for. You have to remember that there's only been 5 out of over 13,000 members actually replied here, and I don't count myself as an arse or a fucker (or an arse fucker but thats for another thread!).
At the end of the day, there will always be mixed feelings on a forum - personally I don't think getting rid of the Fiesta for good is such a good idea when weighing up the costs of other cars - I know you're looking at other Fiestas now so obviously doesn't apply to you. At the end of the day very rarely is anything nasty said that can actually be taken seriously, so the best idea would have been to just ignore it. The only reason there's been sarcasm in this thread is due to the fact that nobody's seen anything that can remotely trigger this topic. I've seen a few joke replies but for the most part its been supportive. If somethings happened on MSN, then take it up with the said person on MSN rather than appealing to the whole forum.
I'm not trying to cause an argument or turn anyone against me, but for the most part I can see the point of not seeing what has triggered this thread. The only thing I've seen is in the stickers thread, but that was all jokes anyway.

Re: Can I just clear something up please...
I wasn't branding all of FT, just the few who act like arses when they're cleary isn't any need to.
As for people not knowing what anyone is on about, If I posted something which I didn't suspect anyone knew anything about, I wouldn't expect any replies?! I certainly wouldn't expect people to get on there high horses because someone came on here to have a moan.
I'm not trying to turn anyone against me either, but I don't see the point in all this slagging Ben off when people don't know what its about, if you don't know whats its about keep your crappy opinion to yourself or go and post somewhere else about it, I'm sure no-one would mind since its FT related and all......

Re: Can I just clear something up please...
I think its probably related to Mike's thing last month, when that turned out to be a big fuss over not much, so this is seen in a similar vein. To be honest, if I like someone, I couldn't give a flying dutchmans jolly flip what they drive, you know?
At the end of the day, creating a thread announcing that you're getting another car on a Fiesta based forum is going to attract this sort of reply - not that I'm against it or anything, but, meh.
Alex- you going to have your provisional sorted in time for March 1st?
llama!!!! f u ( k turns out to be jolly flip! Well blow me! A new one !

My little M Reg should go through OK too, put the spare on cos one of the tyres isnt good! But everything else will be fine I think. Been checked over by my step dad and he knows his stuff big time with cars, so I'm quietly confident. I'm sure yours will go through fine Nick.
lol Nick I wouldnt be able to get up to Bluewater on a provisional anyway I doubt, not without driving over night going the "scenic" route
