only asking because mine are creaking and groaning and when stopping and starting you can feel it through the car and it sounds quite nasty. the springs are brand new but i bought the shocks off ebay. the bloke said they'd covered about 500 miles and they look to be in good condition.........so, i was wondering if i can spray something on them or grease them up so they wouldn't be so creaky.

thanks :)

Not really as the seal on the top of the unit (where the rod comes out) will wipe anything you put on off and if it doesn't then it's wrecked and you'll be losing oil. If the're noisy them something's up, is everything seated properly?

i think they are seated properly although im not sure as i didnt fit them or watch the person who did. when you drive on a smooth road like a motorway you cant hear anything or feel it...... its great, its like its meant to be. but as soon as you go really slow or stop and start or go slow round a corner then its really bad. its happening ot both front wheels and/or shocks. i dont know what it could be apart from the shocks as i cant see any rubbing (thought it was before). i think im gona take it to another mechanic to see if he can suss what it is.
