The fiesta xr2i 8v sounds like a scooby when reved. The timming belt was replaced not long ago could it be related. The car also recieved a full service inlcuding plugs.

Sounds like it could only be firing on three cylinders, could be HT leads

new plugs buddy, il clean up leads, and connectors and earth. cars sat for a year, so gave it a service. Could a f**cked ignition relay contribute to the problem?

IGN coil pack or leads. My other halfs Ka did this a while back. Revs OK under no load, sounds like a scooby when you drive it.

My RS started to sound like a scooby on the way home from ford fair some years back, turned out a lobe had worn out on my Kent cam, pi$$ed me right off seeing as it hadn't don't a thousand miles.

Fitted new cam and lifters to sort mine, might be worth a check on the lobes around pot 3

Other than that as what's been said, check leads and plugs, could maybe even have a injector at fault
