I won a mini indoor competition in september :P I am meant to be a natural, as I've been karting for years. However, my car is worth a lot more to me than uncles go-kart! Plus I don't even know the track!!

thing about the puma engine is they suffer from s**t top ends, they lose power at the end of the rev range where the zetec keeps going right to about 5.5-6k

Erm, they peak at 6,250?

They let a 1.5 diesel non turbo 106 on track with the Reyland cossies. So yours would be fine

Jony and Rob, its likely you wont even be near each other on track, thats what normally seems to happen

The 105bhp 1.8 certainly doesn't. It has a horrible lack of power at high revs.

never thought about slow cars on track really, i guess its reasonable if they didnt, would be somewhat unsafe as it be in the way, and causing loads to overtake

depends how manageable the track is really

you mean the Se peaks at 6.250?

regardless they dont have the power at the higher revs, ive been up agaisnt 2 puma engines (puma and pumesta) and both just trail off come about 70-80 at an alarming rate ill add :(

(i awaite "heres jonys awesome 1.8 again" comments) im just saying its a trait fo the 1.7 engine thats all. just personally i dont think they have what it takes when it comes to a similar powered zetec

henry, you think it'll be like that? be nice if we were all together, more of a laugh really
but atleast we reconise each others cars if we do see eachother while out

i take it you pay for track time on the day then?

go on jamie it be a laugh

yes, power peaks at 6,250. 123bhp. and the torque curve is just that, a curve.

Mine don't run out at 70. 2nd gets to 60 easily, then your back on the power in 3rd, which gets to 85 by the time your anywhere near reaching 5.5k.

The chances are you wont see much of each other, unless you queue together and stay together.

Track time is ordered through me, ill post in here when i need payment. The more we buy the cheaper it works out if we reach a certain amount

It's detailed in the briefing, but basically to make it as safe as possible: You can't overtake on corners (there's boards to tell you where you can and can't pass), and you can only pass on one side.

You can queue up behind me if you want, but the next time you will see me is when i come round to lap you :P

Henry - I was discussing this event with my freind and he would like to come along with his impreza, is there stil space? also my brother is interested but I said for him to put his name down in this thread, both would like track time aswell.

Regarding sessions i presume its not set in stone yet as to how many individuals are doing as I for one would like to do at least two.

Gareth.
