Not sure if face-off is possible with the design of built in screens.
this Pioneer one looks pretty good though, and is right on budget.

I just brought this one for myself and i have to say im very impressed with it. Is a good sturdy unit and picture quality is very impressive too. Has options to have plenty of add ons to it like DAB, tv tuner etc.Very simple to install took me about 10 minutes to get in, would recommend it.

Likewise, I have this, the only bit that comes off is the bit where the four blue buttons are. It's a bit lame as you can still use it without the "face off". But it does have an led to deter people I suppose. Just have to be a bit carefull where it's parked.
I've just dropped my old unit back in, but thats cus I'm putting the Pioneer in my new car, but it's well easy to fit.

My new kenwood (KDC-W751) has a flashing L.E.D too, not really sure i like it the idea though as it just attracts to the stereo, glad it can turned off on mine.

Its a big unit (coming out of the dash) as it has to contain all the mechanism, and be able to clear your vents etc.
But it's not all that noticable when it's off. It's all dark and there's nothing chrome to shout look at me Im a DVD player, just looks like a crappy featureless stereo when it's off
