central locking issue

Hi guys

I got mnyself a mk1 ford.focus last week
It has a problem with the central locking. It's a 3 door when I open the car from the drivers side it only unlocks the drivers door bit when I unlock it from the passengers side it unlocks all doors. Well both doors. Any ideas what this is? Also the fob doesn't wohrk but I. guess that's the battery in te key

Theres a box behind the glove box that deals with central locking i hear that goes on them

Incase anyone else comes across the problem. I linked my diagnostics machine to it and it gave me a code I think it was b2159

And says short to ground output circuit. Not sure where. Maybe you were right about the thing behind the fuse box
