Central locking

Problem or technical question?

Central locking

Postby Richy p on Wed Feb 27, 2013 6:43 pm

Hi all. need some tech help. I've been helping a friend rebuild his 1990 FRST. Anyway when the central locking is activated to lock it goes crazy locking and unlocking and eventually stopping after about 10 times. Tried wiring in a alarm with central locking off the fob but no different. However if I disconnect passanger side plugs for actuator behind the door card it stops and the drivers door locks and unlocks as normal. Anyone had this fault before? do I need a new actuator or could there be a bad earth as these work on a negative pulse to lock and unlock so a faulty earth could possibly cause this????? Thanks in advance.
