changin 1.4 to a 1.6 Si engine

hi ive been thinking now for a while about changin the s**t 1.4 engine i have now to a 1.6 outa an Si, wot other mods are there to make it faster as i am going to rebuild it, i woz [ERRR] bout an induction kit, a new cam kit (either piper or kent cams) and it bored out, [ERRR] other mod i [ERRR] do to it before i put it into the car???

There's no point doing anything to the 1.6 engine. There are people that have done things to increase power, but it's just not worth the money. If you really want to change the engine for a Zetec, it would be far better doing that tiny little bit extra work and going straight for a 2.0, or at least a 1.8, both of which can actually make some gains with the right modifications.

ma insurance company will av me left right and center if i go for a 2.0ltr conversion or a 1.8 so i woz guna stick wit a 1.6. but if there aint no point in doin al that to a 1.6 i mite aswell wait bout a yr or two more and get a 2.0ltr conversion.

if you want to do a 1.4 (which i believe is a cvh in the si) to a 1.6/1.8/2.0 (zetec) conversion then have a look in FAQ/Guides mate.

I've done it (ableit a 1.6 from a 2i to a zetec 2.0) but the principle is the same.

Oh, BTW its a lot of work, including rewiring the loom

I'm still waiting for someone to prove it, but I reckon that his car loom may already be compatible with a Zetec engine loom, as it should already have most of the wires, shouldn't it?
