changing gear selector

Postby JayC on Mon May 22, 2006 3:31 pm

Can i use a mk4 item, or something out of a mk3 to put into a mk3..5 16z si?

My gear stick is slack as anything, so i need to either renew the selector or the components inside.

Selector gate in the box isnt my main concern as i can feel it in the gears.

If i were to go to the scrapyard and find an bog standard mk3 1.1 LX or something along those lines with supurb gear selection.. could i just remove the whole assembly from the car and rfit it to my Si...?

any help would be much appriciated

Sounds like a plan, but just swop to the 1100 box it would help your 0-60 as well and your top speed (slightly). You'll need to use the 1100 release bearing as well. Si clutch and shafts will fit.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.
