Cheap Car Insurance?

Postby TrooPDoG on Sun Aug 06, 2006 4:04 pm

Hi, if someone has allready asked this sorry for reposting I did check in this sub forum but I couldn't find a related thread and so a link to the thread would be much appreciated. :)

Just passed my test and about to purchase a 1996 mark 3 1.1 fiesta.
However I want to modify my car which I assuming will up the cost of my insurance and so I was just wondering if someone could recommend a few insurance companys that allow modification for someone under 19 that hopefully aren't too expensive lol.

Thanks in advance,

I did do a quote at Quinn Direct and it was the cheapest I've had yet however I'm unaware if they allow you to modify your car and how much difference that will make to the cost?

I think it is allowed as long as it does not increase performance, it will not up your premium.

Most websites state before you can get a quote online 'Your car must not be modified beyond manufactureres standard description', but Quinn on the other hand is simply 'Your car must not have any modifications to increase performance or acceleration' (or words to that affect.)

I never noticed that, I will contact them to make sure but if it states that then you must be right.

However would any modifying be class as performance modifying? For example alloy wheels as they will improve grip and lowering the suspension will increase handling? Would that void it?

Thanks,
