Cheap de-cat pipe

Im after a de-cat pipe for my MK 3.5 SI but im on a tight budget so i was wondering if i bought a down pipe for a diesel MK3 or MK4 would fit n do the same job but alot cheaper? Can anyone help me please,it will be much appreciated

you can get them for an si. £60 i seen them for, janspeed i think. was thinking weather you could just get another cat from a scrappy and pull all its insides out?

U can just rip d insides out but it sounds a bit raspy. I think i'l try janspeed. Cheers mate

i've just maded my own de cat pipe, went to a local garage a picked up and old cat from the same car as mine, 1.3
then cut out the cat and welded a pipe straight thru!

made a huge difference to performance and sound!

if your engine has seen better days then dont bother with a decat pipe if you cant be bothered to change for mot's etc!
cos it wont pass the emissions test

but if like mine, you look after the engine and dont ragg it all the time, change oil often etc!
then you'll pass even with a decat pipe! not that it bothers me changing it, as its a 5min job!

yeah i used 2 work in a garage but now id just be down there every day askin if the got an old festa zorst pipe! How different does it make it sound, does it roar or is it just louder?

Mines in the garage now decat and middle section all getting done for £55
Not bad i dont think cat was knackered anyway.
Picking it up at 5 so i'll post the verdict! :Q

just asked them to de-cat it and they quoted £45 and i was expecting £40 so i asked for the middle section too all for £55 fitted. :Q

it made it sound more meaty and pops a bit when taking ur foot off the gas when ragging it!!

used to sound so pathetic, i dont want it loud like a nova boy, just want it to sound meaty! lol

currently got a rage 4" on the back,
but looking into having a longlife back box soon!!!
