Cheapest 195/40/16 Tyres........

Postby Faith on Thu Feb 16, 2006 10:44 am

Right i know people say dont scrimp when it comes to tyres but as the 40's are so expensive then im going to have to!! :(

So...if any people on here have got 40's or are looking for a set then what have you seen for what price or what have you got (brand/model) and how much did you pay?

Currently the best prices i have got off http://www.mytyres.co.uk :

Dunlop SP SPORT 9000 - £62.90 a corner,
Continental SportContact 2 - £72.60 a corner,
Marangoni Zeta Linea (??) - £59.60 a corner,

or through my work i can get the :

Dunlop SP SPORT 9000 - £57.90 a corner.

Cheers,

Ade :D

Mate seriously think about quality! anything lower than a marangoni zeta is bad news. Its a good tyre esp in the wet but cheaper tyres than that are cr@p in everything. I remember bro trying Barum which he found priced equaly to the zeta, but when he had a zeta and a barum on the front and braked it would pull on the zeta's side so barum grips less than the zeta.

How are toyos priced in the uk? over here you can get a 195 50 15 for 2 quids less than an equivalent zeta and are much better!
A wise man once said "Fast and Cheap is not Reliable, Reliable and Cheap is not Fast, Fast and Reliable is not Cheap!" He is right.

i have conti's on the front of mine they are awesome but soft and dont last as long as the dunlops.pirelli p zero neros are about £60 but dont know what they are like but i would expect them to be the bollox as pirelli make tyres for ferraris and lamborghinis as standard.as 4 the toyos ive heard different opinions of them.anybody got anything good 2 say about them? :D

Yeah, i've got them on now and it was very wet last night!

They handle very well in the wet in my opinion, better than the Yokohama AVS sports!
