CHIP & BOOST Questions...

Postby MIK3Y on Wed Aug 20, 2003 12:40 am

Hi, i think i need a new chip but wasn't planning on getting a Motorsport Development chip untill id bought bigger injectors so i could run 16psi.
So wanna set the chip to 10psi untill i get my injectors and use my in-car boost to turn it up to 12 if needed.
If i hav it set-up at the tuning company to run 10psi will the fueling be alright when i up the boost to 12psi & will i hav to get it set-up again when i do get bigger injectors?

'' Then we the optimise (depending on car and ecu) the fuel, boost pressure, timing, smoke limiter, torque limiter, speed limiter, overboost timing, injection correction, EGR valve control & other maps within your cars EPROM. Only a few of the maps relate to the torque, power-delivery and fuel consumption of the engine.''

Will this all need to be set up when u change the boost u want to run? Taken from: http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/

THANX :Q

If the car's set up for 10psi it will need setting up again for 12psi.

Leave it on 10psi and wait until you have everything ready for MSD to sort out.

Standard injectors will easily cope with 12psi in fact they will cope upto 15psi on a T2.
