just received my OFAB stage1 165bhp chip, removed ECU, cleaned the connections with a connection cleaning spray, fitted chip, taped it on securely, re-fitted ECU... now the car wont start???? the ECU was removed from the car for about 30min which im guessing is enough time for the ECU to reset?? when i try to start the car it doesn't want to play but if i remove the chip it will start and sound very rough till i give it a little revv....

can anyone help??? is the chip damaged??? is it not reset properly???

If the car will not run right with the chip removed then check for something else that's been disturbed by removing/re-installing the ecu. Also, check that none of the pins in the ecu J1 connector are bent/damaged on both the ecu and harness (less likely but easy to check).

also see that when you removed the chip you havent bent the acutall connecting block on the chip, there may be a slight crack,, or the chip hasnt been pushed on far enough,,

these problems, i had with my chip, resulting in having to stick the crack back together, wedging it in place then gaffa taping it solid,

ive checked all the pins and connections on chip and ecu ... everything is ok

the car only runs dodgy for a minute if started just after the chip is removed i think it must be getting the fuel through or something, then its ok

im thinking maybe its an OFAC and im runnig OFAB but there is no markings apart form POWERCHIPS
