Hey, your probably looking at about £220 to £280 for a chip and install. Your really not going to gain much power just from a chip, maybe 5Bhp tops. All it will alow is reving up to 7,5K Rpm and will remove any flatspots.

That is unless your engine has had some top mods done to it, fast Road Cam, Port and Polished,Gas flowed head would be a good start.Add a pukka induction kit and a full exaust to get the car breathing right.

Whatever you do, get the chip last on your list as it will have to be mapped to take advantage of all your mods. :Q

But you have to remeber guys, we dont all have the money to drop Zetec's in left right and centre.

The bad new's for you cullen is the Si Zetec was never meant to be a quick engine, and the boy's are so very right about dropping in a Zetec, or say a Turbo'ed lump as you will get more power for your money.

However why dont you start with a Pipercross AirFilter and Straightthrough exaust like a MOngoose or MAgNex. That will provide a few extra BHP, but more importantly its the base for Tuning the engine!

Really you need a fast road cam and a port and polish on the head as i said, once you have these mods in place get that chip in and mapped to get the timing right

If you cant afford the Cam and Port & Polish, still opt for a Filter and Full Exaust then a chip to make use of the mods. that should get your car far mor responsive without any flatspots. :Q

I have a Si and added a RS 1800 throttle Body, a pipercross induction kit, and a powerflow SS Back box and it pulls alot better than standard.

i've also been told a 2ltr mondeo throttle body and inlet manifold will go striaght onto the 1.6 16v zetec, and add around 10bhp, only thing is finding one !!! what kind of gains will you get from an rs1800i one rather than a 2ltr mondeo one or vice versa ??
