high lift cam, headwork, lightened and balanced flywheel, superchip if its an injection, webber carbs if it aint. sorted. Why keep it to 1.6 my mechanic mate bored his to 1.9 and tunned the funlumps off it. Got 235bhp without a turbo, no s**t either because i have seen the dyno readout.

i havent got any reason to lie m8, its not my car! i will see what i can do about the dyno sheet if u want some proof. The guy fully rebuilt the enigine using loads all burton gear. The cam alone cost him 400 quid. The fun thing waas the car visualy was standard apart from the exhaust, so he used to get challenged by all these little novas and r5's only to suprise the hell out of them the moment he floored it. The guy also put together a mk2 escort running a mid engined v8, but that thing used to snap rear axles for fun

Groeten thijs !

Yeah,
but I find it a bit optimistic to think
you just whack in other injectors + chip.
And the bottom end would hold it ???
I just have a new engine,
and don't want to change anything to the bottomend for the moment.
Thijs,

Joris,
I have standard bottom end, standard injectors with a Superchip stage1.....oh and a cam
Anyway, my point is that my car has approx. 165bhp and the bottom end is holding fine
Nothing worse than a saggy bottom

>I'm more into firm bottoms myself
That's a superchip you have ?
I only heard bad things about them and turboed cars, but I have one lying around, if I get it reprogrammed, it should save me 100£
So, that is Superchip stage 1,
what does it include ? (injectors, actuator, ... ? )

Joris,
I have heard horror stories about Superchips as well. But i would blame the setup of the car when the chip is fitted. It's all very well getting the car chipped and turning up the boost, but if you haven't got the amount of fuel to match the boost.............BANG!!!!
I have had my chip for about 12months and it is going well, but of course the fuel bill is cr@p
My setup of the chip included : chip, bleedvalve and rolling road time.

Groeten Thijs!
