chips

what do they actually do? do they change the fuel/air ratio or summat?

is it possible to fit a chip to a 1.1? i know it sounds stupid, but i wanna be the first to try if no one else has, plus i'm tired of my car being slow. couldn't i just get a chip that's for another fiesta, and stick it on my ecu?

cheers.

pete.

chip's on non turbo don't up the bhp alot for your money just a few bhp for around £200 to £300+ when things like cam's webers and having your head skimed could put your bhp around 10bhp each mod. Your best of saying you money till you can get a 2litre or rst no point having the farstest 1.1 around but someone in a standed xr2 leave's you a the light's but that's just my crap opinion :aviator:

Chips for normally aspirated cars usually increase bhp from ignition timing changes, on a 1.1 I doubt if you'd get little more than 5bhp. Chips need to go onto the ecu they were written for otherwise you can cause damage.
