cleaning cone filter?

ive got a foam air filter that needs a clean!
whats the best way to clean the bloody thing? dip it in white spirit and light it? :-?

K&N have a cleaning solution, if its a foam filter it might be worth checking with Pipercross to see if they have any cleaning kits :)
