Clicking When Boosting!?!?!?!?!?

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

Postby Nitrous on Sun Sep 30, 2001 11:20 am

I have got a FRST & it has been running fine, I took the 165 superchip off for a week.
I have now put it back on & sometimes get a clicking/Gratting noise when the car is boosting,it dosent do this when I remove the chip.

Has anyone else had this???

FYI I had this problem when my chip was loose so maybe a bad connection is the cause!?!?!

Project, how do I test these??

I do have a dumpvalve (Diaphram type), but no bleedvalve. The actuator does look quite old & could do with an upgrade, but I was worried that my turbs could B on its way out or at least be under strain with a new actuator holding say 12psi ??

Paul, I have got my chip securely plugged in, so I dont think it would B this, although I will check.

CheeRS!!

Nah its not the engine/pinking, sounds like its coming from the little black cylinder behind the K&N Air Filter, thought this was called the amel vlave, but not sure.

Yeah be careful mate - if your fuels pumps weak it could be detonation.

was the chip set up on a rolling road?

take the ecu out and clean the contacts with petrol - refit and try again

Thanks 4 the advice people! I did get it setup on the RR, so I hope it does have enough fuel! I only get 130/150 miles per tank, so I think there is defo enough fuel being used.

Im getting it checked on the Rd this Sat so I will let U know what it is, hopefully.
